“Okay, Mommy. I’ll be good.”
“Good.” A soft smile curved Hadley’s lips.
When they were done with breakfast, Eric offered to drive Hadley. “Where are you meeting up with Elissa?”
“There is no need,” Hadley replied, her gaze never quite meeting his.
“I’ll swing by and pick her up myself. Tamara is coming with us.” ?s s find?novel.net
“Well… Alright, then.”
Faced with her refusal, Eric didn’t press the matter. “I’ll get going then.” But before he could finish, Hadley had already turned around and headed upstairs.
Eric let out a long sigh, rubbing his forehead. His brow had been furrowed for days now, never truly at ease.
When Hadley got changed and came downstairs, she went straight to Lion Bay to pick up Elissa and then headed to Hamza’s clinic.
Elissa’s session went smoothly today, and when she emerged, there was noticeably more color in her cheeks. She didn’t look nearly as drained as before.
“Feeling better?” Hadley asked, gently linking arms with her. She turned to Hamza and added, “Dr. Perkins, everything on track?”
“Yes,” Hamza replied with a reassuring nod and a warm smile. “Given how things are progressing, it won’t be long before we have it under control.
Although psychological conditions might never fully heal, managing them was often considered a significant achievement.”
“That’s wonderful news.” Hadley smiled and thanked him. “Thank you for all your hard work, Dr. Perkins.”
“You are very welcome. It’s all part of the job.”
“Well then, we will be heading out.”

“Take care.”
Just as they turned to leave, Elissa suddenly stopped in her tracks and glanced back.
“What’s the matter?” Hadley asked in surprise as she followed Elissa’s fixed gaze. “What are you looking at?”
“I believe Elissa’s expression froze in pure disbelief. “Hadley, I swear I just caught a glimpse of Robin.”
“Robin?” A look of surprise flashed across Hadley’s face. “What would he be doing here? Maybe you mixed him up with someone else?”
“Absolutely not.” A crease formed between her brows as Elissa frowned. “I’ve spent eight years around him. I could pick him out by his outline or even just the way he stands. There’s no chance I could mistake him for anyone else.”
“Fair point. Did you see which way he went?” Hadley asked.
Elissa quickly raised her hand and motioned to the left. “Over there!”
“Alright, let’s not stand here overthinking it,” said Hadley, gently taking her friend’s hand. “We’ll go see for ourselves. Come on.”
Together, they made their way toward the clinic’s restroom, following the path Elissa indicated.
