Chapter 2219: Chapter 2220

Finally, she nodded. “Alright. I’ll listen to you. Let Dr. Perkins take a look.”

Eric let out a quiet breath of relief. He slid his arm around her shoulders and guided her toward the door. “Let’s eat something first.”

“Okay.”

They went to the dining area for a quick meal after she freshened up, and then headed to the clinic.

By the time they arrived, Hamza was already waiting.

“Mr. Scott. Hadley.”

“Dr. Perkins.” Eric nodded, his tone firm. “I’m trusting you with her.”

“You don’t have to worry,” Hamza replied, motioning for Hadley to follow. “I’m afraid I’ll have to ask you to wait here, Mr. Scott.”

“Of course. I understand.”

Psychological consultations rarely allowed others inside—not even family. Eric knew that, so he didn’t protest.

At the door, he gently reminded her, “Don’t worry. I’ll be right outside if you need me.”

“Okay.”

Hadley followed Hamza into the treatment room, and the door closed quietly behind them.

An hour later, it opened.

“Hadley.” Eric rose from the sofa the moment he saw her. He stepped forward and took her hand without hesitation. Then he turned to Hamza. “Dr. Perkins, how is she?”

“Mr. Scott, let’s discuss this in my office,” Hamza replied.

Once inside, Hamza said, “I just ran a series of tests on Hadley. Her current condition is a bit different from what she was dealing with before.”

“Different how?” Eric’s expression sharpened, his eyes narrowing. “Is it serious?”

“It’s too soon to say,” Hamza answered. “Physically, everything looks stable—no signs of major complications. But… she appears to be experiencing hallucinations.”

His voice lowered. “And that isn’t something to take lightly.”

At those words, Hadley—still tucked into the curve of Eric’s arm—began to tremble.

Eric tightened his hold on her hand and cast Hamza a discreet look. The doctor understood and didn’t press further.

Turning back to her, Eric murmured, “Maybe it isn’t that bad. Let’s just listen to what he has to say. Alright?”

Hadley gave a small nod, her lips pressed tightly together.

“Dr. Perkins,” Eric said, concern etched deep across his face. “You’ve been managing her care from the beginning. What’s your recommendation?”
