Chapter 2053: Chapter 2054

“Hadley…” Eric quickly pocketed his phone and stepped out. “That was fast. Everything alright?”

Hadley looked up, her brows knit with concern. “I didn’t see Elissa. She’s not home.”

“Don’t worry,” Eric reassured her, watching her expression. “She’s not alone. She has people with her.”

“I know,” Hadley replied with a nod, though the tension in her expression didn’t ease. “She knows she has bodyguards, so she wouldn’t just go off easily… Still, where could she have gone?”

She muttered the last part to herself. As she said these words, she pulled out her phone to call Elissa.

But then…

“Sorry, the number you dialed is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later.”

Hadley lowered her phone slowly, her brow furrowing deeper.

“What is it? You couldn’t reach her?” Eric asked, his voice filled with concern.

“No.” Hadley slowly shook her head. After pondering for a moment, an idea began to form in her mind about where Elissa might have gone. “I need to go somewhere.” She turned and waved him off. “You go ahead with your day.”

“Wait!” Eric reached out and caught her arm. “How am I supposed to leave you like this? You’re going to look for Elissa, aren’t you? I’m coming with you.”

“Well… alright.” Hadley hesitated for a second, but her worry over Elissa outweighed everything else.

“Get in the car,” Eric urged.

“Mr. Scott, Miss Pearson, where to?” the driver asked as they settled in.

Eric turned to Hadley and waited for her direction. Hadley pressed her lips together before giving the address.

That place?

Eric’s brows drew together for a moment. Then, he nodded to the driver. “Drive.”

“Yes, Mr. Scott.”

As the car pulled away from the gate, Eric glanced sideways at her. There was a pause before he finally asked, “Do you really think Elissa’s there?”

“I’m not sure.” Hadley slowly shook her head and massaged her brow. “She never asked about Ernest’s wedding. And I didn’t mention it either.”

Hadley had once asked Eric to look into it, but Elissa hadn’t made any moves.

And so, Hadley kept quiet.

Still, judging by the current situation, her worries seemed to be coming true… Elissa had spoken of a plan before. She said she was waiting for the right moment.

Now, with no word from her, Hadley could only assume that Elissa must have found out something on her own and decided to make a move.

Hadley’s intuition was right.

Elissa might not have been a widely known designer, but she had spent years in the field. Recently, after joining a major firm, she had built a few meaningful connections.

She pulled a few strings and reached out to her contacts. Slowly, she managed to piece things together.
