Chapter 1725: Chapter 1726

Elissa blinked away the tears and tried to steady her breath. Her voice shook as she echoed his words. “Bipolar disorder? That’s the illness with intense highs and lows?”

“That’s right.” Robin gave a small nod, cradling his bandaged arm with the other hand.

“So, your arm… You did that to yourself?” Elissa’s gaze dropped to the white bandages. She put two and two together. ? fin?novel.net

“Yeah.” Robin met her eyes and didn’t try to hide it.

Elissa felt her heart drop after listening to him. A sudden shock ran through her, leaving her breathless for a moment.

“Then…”

For a split second, Elissa’s mind raced with memories and realizations, each one adding weight to her growing fear. “When did all this begin?”

“It’s been some time.” Robin’s shoulders slumped as he let out a weary sigh. “At first, I thought I was just too emotional, that my moods were something I could control. It never crossed my mind to get help. After a while, I started hurting people close to me. I even hurt myself. Two years ago, I finally got a proper diagnosis.”

Elissa’s jaw dropped in disbelief.

Stunned, she just stared at him, unable to say a word. It took a moment, but then she said, “You…” Her chest tightened, and her eyes brimmed with fresh tears. “Why didn’t you ever say anything?”

“Why?” A bitter smile twisted Robin’s lips. “Would telling you have changed anything? I’ve only gotten worse. Ever since our wedding night, I’ve been falling apart. I don’t think I can be fixed.”

Without warning, Elissa turned away. Tears spilled down her cheeks, and she couldn’t stop them.

“Elissa…” Robin fumbled for a tissue and quickly handed it over. “You’re crying? Please, Elissa, don’t waste your tears on someone like me.”

“Thanks.” She pressed the tissue to her eyes and nodded, her voice small.

Robin sat silently, his gaze gentle, and waited for her to regain her composure.

After a few minutes, she wadded the tissue into her fist and looked up again. “So… how are you doing now? What has the doctor said?”

“I’m actually doing much better,” Robin said, managing a gentle smile. “This clinic is the best one in Srixby. They’re taking good care of me and teaching me how to live with this.”

Even so, Elissa was not so easily convinced.

His words felt like a gentle attempt to comfort her.

If things were truly under control, she doubted he would still have fresh bandages covering his arm.

The Robin she fell in love with had always put others first, hiding his pain behind polite reassurances.

“So that’s how it is?” Elissa caught the truth behind his smile but let it slide. Her lips curved into a polite smile. “I’m glad to hear that.” With those words, she pushed back her chair and rose to her feet. “I should get going.”

“Wait!” Robin’s voice caught her just as she turned. “How are things with Mr. Flynn? Has he been good to you?”
