Three million dollars was nothing to Wesley,

but Sandra made it in a single day.

At this rate, she could soon cover the entire villa with money.

Joey, though a die-hard fan of Wesley, knew that Wesley was struggling.

Wesley had faced obstacles everywhere since regaining consciousness.

He was now in charge of the design department, but he hadn’t gained widespread acceptance yet.

Ben would come to the office the next day,

and Wesley might become the company’s laughingstock.

In comparison, Sandra was more impressive.

Sandra looked at Joey, feeling like he had been brainwashed in a short period of time.

Suddenly, Joey grinned at her,

seemingly trying to flatter her.

Sandra was speechless.

Wesley rolled his eyes at Joey.

“You can go home now.”

Joey was reluctant.

Couldn’t he have a few more words with his idol?

But then he met Wesley’s menacing gaze.

His heart skipped a beat, and he quickly turned and ran away.

He didn’t want to be punished.

Late at night,

Carl arrived at the Cooper Mansion with the pendant.

Debra opened the door.

She usually wore professional business attire, but today she was dressed in a white dress.

The dress accentuated her voluptuous figure perfectly.

She had applied light makeup, which seemed more suitable for a college student.

But she had taken good care of herself over the years and hadn’t changed much.

Additionally, it was nighttime, so there was a visual difference.

At first glance, it truly took Carl back to their youthful days.

Carl was completely stunned.

Debra smiled slightly and took the pendant from his hand.

“Thank you.”

Her voice was very gentle,

sounding like it had been specially processed,

just like during their college days.

“Not… Not at all.”

Carl couldn’t help feeling nervous.

He even started to stutter.

Under the streetlight, his face turned slightly red, as if he were shy.

Debra smiled faintly.

“You didn’t have to reveal your identity.”

She sighed softly.

Her voice was so sweet.

Carl was completely mesmerized.

His heart trembled once again.

“Don’t feel guilty.”

His voice suddenly became louder.

But as soon as he spoke, he realized he had lost his composure.

So, he quickly turned his face away, pretending nothing had happened.

Debra’s smile widened, but it quickly faded. When Carl looked back, her face was filled with sorrow.

“It’s Angela’s fault.”

She wiped the corner of her eye, where there were no tears.

“I’m afraid Wesley will take advantage of the situation and take over from me in the company.”

Carl immediately comforted her.

“I know some big shots who will want to do business with you.”

Debra quickly shook her head.

“You’ve helped me a lot. You don’t have to…”

“Don’t get me wrong.” Carl was afraid she would feel burdened, so he quickly explained.

“They think highly of you and want to collaborate with you.”

Debra sobbed.

“Sorry for the trouble.”

Carl fell silent.

The night was dark.

The moon hung high in the sky. They stood facing each other.

Their shadows overlapped, but they would never cross again.

After a long silence,

Carl sighed.

“It was my fault back then, and I should make it up to you.”

He took a step back.

“Alright, you should go back now. If you stay too long, Angela will become suspicious.”

Debra burst into tears and said,

“I want to watch you leave.”

Carl suddenly felt like he was back in college.

After their dates, they often bid each other farewell like this.

With a bitter smile, he nodded and turned to leave.

As he disappeared around the corner, all the bitterness, sorrow, and regret on Debra’s face disappeared.

Only coldness remained.

She brought the pendant to Angela’s room.

Angela had seen Debra and Carl meeting on the second floor just now.

She would have made some sarcastic remarks before,

but now, she had no standing.

Because Debra was helping her.

“Mommy, I…”

“Slap, slap!”

Debra slapped her across the face directly.

“Ah!”

Angela covered her cheeks, looking at Debra in disbelief.

This was the first time she had been hit.

Tears welled up in her eyes.

Debra threw the pendant onto the sofa and threatened her.

“If there’s a next time, I won’t help you anymore!”

She turned to leave.

Angela lost her intention to apologize to Debra.

She was indignant that she had been hit over a small pendant.

So, she asked without thinking.

“What’s your relationship with Carl?”

“The auction house is mysterious. He’s in charge there, but he is willing to help me with the pendant.”

She stepped forward and asked with a hostile tone.

“Humph, what qualifications do you have to hit me when you do all these things behind Dad’s back?”

Her voice was filled with mockery.

Debra was cut to the heart.

She turned around and stared into Angela’s eyes.

Under Angela’s suspicious gaze, she trembled.

Angela was born prematurely.

So, Debra had put her heart and soul into her.

She almost lost her position in the Cooper family and got kicked out because of Angela.

Now, the apple of her eye doubted her and even questioned her!

Angela was so ungrateful.

“Why aren’t you speaking?”

Debra’s pale face and the disappointed look in her eyes sent a chill down Angela’s spine. She regretted being so impulsive.

But Debra suddenly turned and left.

She didn’t say anything before leaving.

Angela caught a glimpse of the pendant on the sofa and felt a pang of guilt.

Should she not have questioned Debra?

But Carl’s intentions toward Debra were indeed suspicious. And she didn’t believe that, during the years when Victor was in a coma, Debra had remained chaste. She could understand and even support it.

She regretted being so harsh and hurting Debra’s feelings!

She picked up the pendant, a hint of hatred flashing in her eyes.

It was all Sandra’s fault!

It was Sandra who made her lose her sanity!
