“I’m coming!”
“Go on.” Hadley smiled gratefully at him.
“Thank you for watching over her.”
“What nonsense is that?” Brady brushed it aside with a flick of his hand.
“She’s my niece. I love her, and I enjoy being with her.”
Out of nowhere, he added playfully, “Consider it practice for when I’ve got kids of my own someday!”
After saying that, he stepped forward and swept Joy up into his arms.
Together, the two made their way into the garden.
Hadley stood watching, a quiet ache pressing against her chest. Brady’s playful remark touched a sore spot.
When those words left his mouth… was he thinking of Colleen?
Poor Brady. He didn’t realize the truth—whatever future he imagined with Colleen had already slipped away.
Later that evening, once Brady had gone and Joy was asleep, the rain began.
The gentle patter on the trees outside only worsened Hadley’s unease. She turned from side to side, unable to find rest.
In the stillness, her phone lit up. The sudden ring pierced the silence. Hadley sat upright in alarm, snatched the phone, and swiped the screen.
“Hello? Mr. Gomez?” Her tone trembled. A call this late could only mean news.
“Hadley.” Ellis wasted no time.
“We’ve discovered Bianca’s hideout. I’m heading there now.”
The words flew out of Hadley’s mouth before she thought.
“I’m coming with you!”
“That’s…” Ellis paused.
“The information might be unreliable. And even if we catch Bianca, it doesn’t mean Eric will be there. You should stay put and wait for me to update you.”

“I can’t wait!” cried Hadley, her brows furrowing.
“Please—send me the address. Will you?”
Even if it led to nothing, she needed to be there herself.
What if this really was their chance?
“Alright.” After a pause, Ellis gave in.
“I’ll share the coordinates.”
“Thank you.”
The moment she ended the call, the message with the location came through. She hurried to her closet and changed.
While pulling on her clothes, she dialed Ernest and told him the news.
By the time she stepped out of Crimson House, Ernest had already rushed over from his room.
“Ernest.”
“Let’s move!”
Neither spoke further. With their teams assembled, they left Flynn Mansion without delay.
The car carried them straight to the site marked on the map.
Once they pulled up, both climbed out at once.
