Chapter 2656: Chapter 2657

“Hadley!” Eric’s voice rang out in alarm. He rushed forward, grabbed Linda’s wrist, and gripped it tightly.

“Let go!”

He then pulled Hadley aside and guided her a few steps back.

“Ah…” Linda gasped and winced in pain. She looked up at the man standing before her, and her eyes went wide with disbelief.

He was here too?

But Eric didn’t spare her a glance.

“Are you okay?” He steadied Hadley by the shoulders and scanned her face. Then his gaze trailed down to her arms as if checking for bruises.

“Are you hurt?”

Hadley stood frozen, then shook her head in disbelief.

“Really?” Eric’s shoulders eased, relieved he had arrived just in time. At her call, he had rushed in.

“That’s good,” he said with a sigh of relief.

Linda stared at them, her eyes wide with surprise. Then, all of a sudden, she burst out laughing.

“HA-HA-HA!”

Her gaze flicked between them.

“Eric, do you even understand what’s going on? Look at me. In my current state, how could I possibly hurt her?”

Hearing the voice, Eric froze for a second. Then he finally lifted his head and looked at the figure lying in the bed.

Was this woman Linda?

Was it really because of her that he and Hadley divorced?

Now, that story didn’t sit right with him anymore.

He took one last look, then turned away to look at Hadley.

“Can we leave now?”

Linda was taken aback.

“Eric? You…” she murmured, her face draining of color.

There was an indifference in his eyes, as if he didn’t know her at all. Not once during their years together had he ever looked at her like that.

Hadley chuckled.

Moments like this were rare. If Eric hadn’t lost his memory, this wouldn’t be happening at all.

“Why do you look so pale?” Eric had no clue what had been said before he walked in. Still, he could tell it wasn’t anything good. There was no point staying any longer.

“Let’s go.” He placed a hand on Hadley’s shoulder and added, “Shall we?”

“Okay.” Hadley smiled and let him guide her out.

As they passed the caregivers, Hadley paused and turned to them.

“Take good care of her.”

Then, more firmly, she added, “Make sure nothing happens to her. No accidents. No nothing.”

“Yes, Miss Pearson,” one of the caregivers replied with a solemn nod.

“You have our word.”

“Thank you.”
