Eric stared at her lips as she spoke. His throat tightened. The face flashing through his mind slowly aligned with the one in front of him. It was her. Hadley.
She saw the way he looked at her and raised a brow.
“What? Is your stomach acting up too? Bathroom’s that way…”
“No!” Eric snapped out of it, shaking his head.
“I’m fine. I just… my head’s a little fuzzy.”
Because something had come back.
And this time, he didn’t doubt it. After what had happened under the cherry tree, he trusted this piece of memory was real too.
“One’s throwing up, the other’s dizzy.” Hadley sighed.
“Perfect.”
Kira let out a small laugh.
“Get them both some honey water.”
A servant quickly brought over two glasses of honey water.
Hadley didn’t stick around. She turned and headed upstairs to rest.
Eric sat quietly, sipping his water. His thoughts ran in circles.
Had he really gotten on his knees for a girl?
And if that girl was Hadley… how could that be? He was supposed to feel nothing for her.
“Ernest.” He looked up suddenly.
“I want to ask you something.”
Ernest nodded.
“Go ahead. What is it?”
“It’s just…” Eric hesitated.
“Be honest. From what you know about me… am I the type who would get on my knees for just anyone?”

Ernest paused, looking at him for a second, then raised an eyebrow as if staring at a fool.
“You’re not just drunk,” he said flatly.
“You’re completely gone.”
Ernest never held back his words.
Eric sighed.
So, he wasn’t the kind of man who would do that.
Then why, in that memory, had he been on his knees, desperate for forgiveness? And why had it been Hadley?
The next morning marked the official launch of the new product.
Flynn Group and Scott Group posted the joint announcement at dawn, tagging Hadley as the spokesperson for the full product line.
By eight-thirty, she had finished her makeup, slipped into her gown, and left for the venue.
Her new assistant, Emily Myers, followed closely behind, lifting the train of her dress with careful hands.
The door opened.
Theodore stood waiting with other bodyguards.
