Chapter 2574: Chapter 2575

Megan froze. Of course she knew. Once Eric made up his mind, no one could stop him.

“Let him do what he wants,” Ferris said with a weary sigh.

“I’d like to see what difference it makes. Hadley walked away so heartlessly. Even if he finds her now, what can really change?”

But what if it did change everything?

Megan wasn’t as sure. She lowered her head and mumbled to herself, “It’s my fault… Six months already… and I…”

Half a year had passed, and still, there was no progress between them.

“Already giving up?” Ferris chuckled dryly.

“Eric’s never been easy to win over. Don’t forget. First, there was Linda. She saved his life. Then came Hadley. She spent ten years beside him. Ten years! As long as Hadley keeps her distance and his memories do come back, there’s still a chance for you.”

Meanwhile, the phone rang.

Hadley’s heart skipped a beat. She reached for it with trembling fingers. It was Eric.

Hadley’s lips tightened as she drew a quick breath and picked up the call.

“Hello.”

“Hadley Pearson.” Eric’s voice came through, low and deliberate, enunciating her full name.

“It’s me, Eric… Flynn.”

Eric remembered that this was how she used to refer to him. Now it made sense. Because when they got married, he was Eric Flynn, and when they divorced, he was still Eric Flynn. He only returned to the Scott family afterward.

Hadley responded evenly.

“I know.”

“I’m sorry.” Eric stood outside her house, leaning against his car, his gaze fixed on the soft glow spilling from a window.

“It’s late—I didn’t mean to bother you. I’m at your front door now, and I was wondering if…” His words faltered, hesitant.

“Could we talk in person?”

“Alright.” Hadley had braced herself for this and agreed.

“I’ll go get the door. Wait a second.”

The night was alive with the hum of the neighborhood—being spotted would be far from ideal.

“Thank you.” Eric expressed his gratitude and then approached the front door, hands at his sides, a subtle tension gripping him.

“Stay out here,” he instructed Phillips and the bodyguards.

With a faint click, the door creaked open, and he stepped through.

Inside, Hadley stood waiting at the entrance, the living room bathed in warm light. She gestured toward the interior.

“Come in.”

“Okay.” Eric nodded stiffly, hands clasped awkwardly as he trailed behind her.

“Have a seat.” Hadley motioned to the sofa and settled down herself.

“Thank you.” Eric swallowed hard, sitting across from her, his nerves evident.

Hadley offered a small smile.
