Chapter 2535: Chapter 2536

Phillips had battled with himself over telling Eric the truth time and time again. But he knew all too well that the real decision lay with Hadley.

If Hadley couldn’t accept Eric, then maybe it was better he remained in the dark.

“Hadley!” Phillips’s voice grew desperate.

“Why won’t you believe me? Look at him. He doesn’t remember anything, yet he still treats you so well!”

Hadley glanced toward the couple ahead—Eric was gently helping Megan into the car, steady and attentive.

Her thoughts drifted to Linda again.

She turned back to Phillips, her expression unreadable.

“I should go.”

Phillips stiffened. She still wasn’t ready to let go.

The thugs had taken Hadley’s backpack where she kept her car keys, and she now had no choice but to take a taxi back home. She stood quietly at the curb, waiting for a ride.

A sleek Bentley passed by on the road.

Inside, Eric leaned back in his seat, eyes closed in rest. Beside him, Megan caught sight of Hadley standing with quiet grace at the roadside.

Not far behind her stood Phillips.

Though Hadley had told him not to see her off, Phillips insisted on staying—he needed to watch her get into the car to feel at ease.

One glance, and Megan understood everything.

She turned her head slightly, stealing a glance at the man beside her.

Was this sudden departure from Srixby… because of Hadley? What really happened?

Her heart sank like a stone in water. Why?

Even without his memories, were Eric and Hadley still getting caught up in each other?

Meanwhile, Phillips opened the taxi door and helped Hadley inside, reminding her, “Text me once you get home.”

“Okay, I will,” she nodded, not refusing his concern.

The car pulled away, driving back toward Jewel Avenue.

It was already afternoon when Hadley stepped into the house; the entire house was calm and quiet.

Melba greeted her at the door.

“You’re back.” She then gestured upstairs.

“Joy just fell asleep.” Then she pointed toward the home gym.

“Mr. Jenkins is in there. These past few days, aside from spending time with Joy, that’s where he’s been.”

Lowering her voice slightly, she added, “He hasn’t been able to reach Dr. Hayes at all.”

“I see.” Hadley nodded and changed into her house slippers.

She picked up her phone and typed a quick message to Colleen.

“How’s everything at home? Is your mom feeling any better?” The message went through, but there was no reply.

Maybe she was busy… or simply unavailable.
