“Alright,” he agreed quietly.
That evening, Hadley received an unexpected call from Elvin. He inquired about her schedule, mentioning an important dinner party over the weekend that Hadley needed to attend. It was related to the promotional campaign for the drama they had just filmed.
Lisa’s productions had consistently attracted high-profile attention throughout the industry.
Although they had just wrapped filming and were still deep in post-production, advertisers were already lining up to get involved.
The weekend dinner party would be with various influential business partners who were all seeking possible cooperation.
As a key member of the cast, Hadley’s presence was naturally required.
“Of course, Mr. Webster. I understand completely.”
“I’ll text you the time and location shortly.”
“Perfect, thank you.”
Elvin sent the details within minutes: Saturday evening at seven o’clock, at the elegant Winterley Restaurant.
On Saturday, Hadley made sure Joy was comfortable and settled before leaving an hour and a half early. Jewel Avenue wasn’t far from Winterley Restaurant, but with unpredictable weekend traffic, timing was always uncertain. Fortunately, she had planned ahead and left early.
When she arrived at the upscale Winterley Restaurant, it was exactly half-past. She entered through the grand main entrance and made her way toward the elevator.
Surprisingly, the lobby was nearly empty, with just a single man standing alone near the elevator. Hadley paused mid-step. She recognized him immediately—Marshall from the prominent Myers family.
“Hadley?” Marshall noticed her as well, his face lighting up with recognition. “What a pleasant surprise! It’s been far too long.”
“Yes, it has.” Hadley nodded with a warm smile, walking over to exchange pleasantries.

“Are you here for dinner as well?” he asked.
“Yes, I am.”
“Meeting friends tonight?”
“Actually, no—it’s a work obligation.”
Before they could exchange much more conversation, the elevator arrived at the ground floor with a soft chime, and the polished doors slid open.
“After you, please.” Marshall gestured graciously with one arm, displaying perfect gentlemanly manners.
“Thank you.”
They both stepped into the elevator together, the space suddenly feeling more intimate. Marshall reached toward the button panel and asked politely, “Which floor are you headed to?”
“The sixth floor, please.”
“What a delightful coincidence!” Marshall raised an eyebrow with genuine amusement. “I’m heading to the sixth floor as well.”
