Chapter 2321: Chapter 2322

Early one morning, Hadley made her way to the hospital to check in on Savannah. Things hadn’t improved much since that awful night. Savannah remained fragile, and now other health concerns had started to surface.

By the time Hadley walked into the room, Savannah had just received a shot and had already drifted off to sleep.

Neville and Hadley spent a few minutes in quiet conversation.

“She’s struggling more than she lets on…” Neville let out a weary sigh. “She had gallbladder surgery recently, and now this setback…”

A pause lingered before he added, “I’ve been thinking of bringing her back home.”

They were leaving already?

The question slipped out before Hadley could stop herself. “But what about Elissa…”

A faint, pained smile crossed Neville’s face. “It’s been too long. I think we’re all beginning to accept the truth.”

Although no one said it aloud, the reality hung heavy—Elissa wasn’t coming back. Still, life had to go on for those who remained.

“I have to take Savannah home. She needs consistent care and a quieter environment. Miss Pearson, would you be willing to help with something?”

“Of course,” Hadley answered without hesitation. “Just tell me what you need.”

“This is about Elissa,” Neville spoke quietly, his voice rough as he looked down.

“All I’m asking is, if you find her, please tell us right away. That’s all.”

He didn’t need to spell it out, but he was clearly referring to Elissa’s remains. The meaning of his words settled between them, clear as day, even though neither explained it further.

Neville let out a tired breath. “I’ll make sure to take Elissa back with me. Her family is here in Ontmond. That’s where she should be.”

Hadley’s throat tightened, and no words came out at first. With effort, she managed a small nod. “You can trust me, Mr. Brown.”

Neville gave her shoulder a light pat. “Thank you. This matters more than you know.”

“You’re welcome.”

Once Hadley stepped outside the hospital, an even deeper sorrow pressed down on her chest.

Sunlight streamed down from above, burning against her eyelids and forcing her eyes shut. She squeezed them tight, hoping to hold back the tears threatening to spill.

Everything seemed like a strange dream. Elissa’s death was something her mind still refused to accept.

After leaving the hospital, she set off for Flynn Mansion.

At that hour, Ernest and Locke were seated at the table for breakfast.

However, Locke refused to touch his food and sat there with a stubborn frown.

“Why aren’t you eating?” Ernest tapped the edge of Locke’s plate. “Go on and finish your breakfast. I have to get you to school soon.”
