“Aren’t you done yet? What else do you want to do?”
Before she could finish, she felt his hand move to the back of her calf, pressing into the muscle. “Does this spot feel sore?” he asked.
Hadley paused, her lips tightening in thought. “Well… a little.”
“I knew it.” Eric gave her a look that was part playful, part scolding. He understood how much Hadley cared for Elissa, but he wished she’d care for herself too. “Let me massage your calves for you.”
As his hands moved gently over her leg, he asked, “How’s the pressure? Is this okay?”
Hadley paused for a moment, then a smile crept onto her lips. “You could go a little harder.”
“Like this?”
“Harder.”
“How about now?”
“Perfect.”
As Eric’s strong hands worked slowly into the tense muscle, Hadley closed her eyes and let out a soft sigh. “Ah, this feels amazing.”
Then she cracked one eye open and grinned. “With hands like these, you could be a masseuse.”
“Such high praise?” Eric’s eyes sparkled with amusement. “Good to know. If my family ever kicks me out, at least I’ve got a backup plan. I’ll support you and Joy with my magical massage hands.”
Hadley burst into laughter. “Alright. You promised. Joy and I are high maintenance, you know. We don’t do well with tough times.”
“You won’t have to. I’ll always take care of you.”
“Enough with the smooth talk,” Hadley teased, shooting him a playful glare. “Eat your food already.”
He still needed to take his medicine afterward, and she wasn’t about to let him forget.

To her surprise, Eric shook his head. “Didn’t you just say my massage felt amazing? It hasn’t even been five minutes. Let me keep going.”
“No need. You need to eat something too,” she replied, trying to pull her leg away.
Eric smirked. “So you’re worried about me, huh?”
“Hey…” Hadley, faced with his cheeky grin, sighed helplessly. “Yeah, I’m worried about you. Happy now?”
“Of course!” Eric beamed, his grin stretching almost to his ears. “How about this? I’ll keep massaging you, and you feed me?”
Before she could answer, he leaned back, tilted his head, and opened his mouth. “Come on. I’m starving.”
“You’re so silly!” Hadley laughed, shaking her head. She scooped up a spoonful of food and brought it to his mouth. “Here. Eat.”
“Mm, delicious!”
