Chapter 1774: Chapter 1775

“Yeah.” Eric paused and nodded, not being completely honest.

Technically, it wasn’t a lie since the doctors still needed time to determine his situation. Besides, Ernest already had enough on his plate.

Right now, Eric had to face things on his own.

Later that evening, after Ernest left Linda’s ward, Sebastian came to update him.

“Sir, Miss Holland has been taken home by her grandfather.”

Ernest was taken aback, frowning. After a moment of silence, he got into the car. “Take me to the Holland residence.” Chapters first released on Find[?]ovel.net

“Yes, sir.”

By the time they reached the house, it was already late.

A servant answered the door, but Elissa wasn’t there to greet him. Instead, he was met by Addy.

“Mr. Holland,” Ernest greeted the elderly man politely.

“Mr. Flynn,” Addy nodded with a pleasant smile. “Come in and have a seat. Let’s talk.”

“Okay.”

“Mr. Flynn…” Addy kept his smile as he began. “The thing is, I think it’s best if you stop seeing Elissa.”

“Mr. Holland?” Ernest’s brows furrowed, and his eyes darkened.

But Addy didn’t waver. He continued calmly, “You came here to see Elissa, didn’t you? She’s already asleep. You should head back.”

Ernest was caught off guard. It was clear Addy was trying to push him away, but Ernest had no grounds to argue.

After a pause, he reluctantly rose from his seat. “Then… I’ll be on my way. I’ll come back tomorrow.”

Addy frowned and added, “Mr. Flynn, you seem overwhelmed with a lot lately. Since you’re so occupied, I suggest that Elissa stay here with me from now on. I trust you understand what I’m saying.”

Ernest froze, anger flashing in his eyes. “Mr. Holland, this…”

“Mr. Flynn.” Addy’s smile disappeared, and his voice turned firm. “Elissa’s parents divorced when she was just a child, but I raised her. She still has family who genuinely cares for her.”

He paused, his words becoming more severe. “She’s been through enough. If you’re still trapped in your past, then I ask you, let her go.” He then lifted his hand and waved it dismissively.

“It’s late. Please see yourself out… I won’t be seeing you off.”

As Ernest stepped out of the Holland residence, he stopped abruptly and looked up at the window of Elissa’s room on the second floor. Frustrated, he rubbed his brow. Eric’s warning from earlier echoed in his mind. It had come true so quickly.

Eric had found the strength to let Hadley go… but Ernest? He couldn’t imagine losing Elissa.

Without hesitation, he pulled out his phone and dialed her number.

“Hello?” Elissa’s voice was soft as she answered the call.
