“Jane, who—” Linda pivoted in her wheelchair. The moment her eyes landed on Eric, her body tensed, frozen in recognition.
“Eric, it’s you.” Her voice wavered slightly. “What brings you here, of all places?”
“Humph.” The sound escaped from his throat, bitter and dismissive. Eric brushed past Jane into the room, a glacial smirk playing at the corners of his mouth. “You really don’t know why I’ve come?”
“Let me guess.” Linda’s fingers tapped rhythmically against her armrest. She then abandoned her act of ignorance, and a ghost of a smile crept across her face. “You and Hadley fought, didn’t you?”
Though framed as a question, her tone carried the certainty of someone who already knew the answer.
“Linda!” The name tore from his throat like a curse. Eric’s features hardened into stone, his eyes blazing with barely contained fury as he hissed, “Why did you do it? What twisted satisfaction do you get from this?”
“Hmm?” Linda tilted her head, feigning innocence. She blinked slowly, her gaze capturing his. “You’re this furious? My goodness. Did Hadley break up with you?”
Eric stood motionless, the blood draining from his face.
Linda’s laugh sliced through the silence. “Oh my, looks like I hit the mark!” With unexpected vigor, she straightened her posture, meeting Eric’s scorching gaze without flinching. “See? That’s precisely what I get out of this.”
She erupted into laughter, her eyes gleaming with malicious delight. “You two are torn apart now. I couldn’t possibly be happier!”
Eric gaped at her, disbelief etched across every line of his face.
“Have you completely lost your mind?” Eric’s voice trembled with shock. “You made the mistake, and Ernest was the one who covered for you. Yet, instead of showing a shred of remorse, you deliberately manipulated Hadley… Are you truly insane?”
“Yes!” The word exploded from her lips. Linda’s laughter vanished like a snuffed flame, replaced by a venomous glare. “I am insane! And it’s because of you! You and Ernest—you both pushed me over the edge!”
Her eyes grew bloodshot, rimmed with the raw edge of emotion. “You two are nothing but ungrateful wretches—have you forgotten I once saved your miserable lives? You both exist because of me—you should be devoted to me always! Who granted you the right to love another person? Huh?”

The words tore from her throat in a primal scream, her voice splintering with raw, unhinged emotion.
Eric released a harsh, derisive laugh. “I couldn’t care less about your mental state! Right now, you’re coming with me, whether you like it or not!”
With those words still hanging in the air, he seized the wheelchair’s handles and began forcefully steering Linda toward the door.
“What do you think you’re doing?” The color drained from Linda’s face as realization dawned. “Where on earth are you taking me?” she demanded, genuine fear replacing her earlier confidence. Content originally comes from Find1Novel.net
“To see Hadley!” The words cut through the air like a blade.
Eric’s expression darkened to granite, his eyes two chips of ice gleaming with unwavering determination. He enunciated each syllable with calculated precision, the weight of his intent hanging between them. “I want you to face her, look her in the eyes, and sincerely apologize—admit your wrongdoing and beg for her forgiveness!”
The demand struck Linda like a physical blow. Horror flooded her features as she thrashed against his grip. “No! I refuse to go!”
