It had been a long time since they’d sat across from each other like this—calm, face to face.
Robin looked slightly uneasy as he handed her the menu. “What do you feel like eating?”
“I’m fine with anything.”
“Then I’ll order for both of us.”
“Sure,” she said, then added, “My treat today.”
“Alright.” Robin blinked, surprised, but didn’t .
He ordered a few things he remembered she liked, then glanced back at her. “So… is there something you wanted to talk about?”
Just earlier, his lawyer had told him their divorce would be finalized in a few days.
She must have had something else on her mind.
“Yes.” Elissa held her glass, her lips drawn in a tight line. “I wanted to ask you something.”
She looked him straight in the eye, her heart pounding. “Did you know I’d… been pregnant? That I had a child?”
Robin’s eyes widened in disbelief. His expression froze.
Seeing it, Elissa gave a faint, bitter smile. “So… you did know.”
“You…” Robin swallowed hard, his voice catching. Instead of answering, he asked, “Why are you suddenly bringing this up? Did you… remember something?”
“Remember something?” Elissa frowned as she repeated his words, catching his wording. “So you really did know some… I don’t.”
Robin’s expression shifted as he wrestled with himself. In the end, he nodded. “Yeah… I knew. So—did you remember?”
“No.” She gave a bitter smile, tapping her temple. “There’s nothing in here. Not a single memory.”

“Then how did you…” Robin looked confused. “How did you find out?”
Elissa hesitated, but then sidestepped the question.
“That doesn’t matter. I asked to meet because I want to know the truth—about the pregnancy, and the child…” Her eyes grew red, tears brimming.
She forced herself to continue. “Back then, after our wedding night… I got pregnant, didn’t I?”
Robin froze.
His face went pale. He shut his eyes and nodded after a long pause. “Yes.” When he opened them again, they were bloodshot.
“After that night, I really tried to let go of the past. I wanted to start over with you—I swear I did. But… But…” The words caught in his throat.
It took some time, but he was finally ready to go back to her. And then, he found out she was pregnant—with another man’s child.
Elissa listened in silence.
Even if she couldn’t remember anything, she could imagine how devastating it must have been.
She took a breath, steadying herself. “What happened to the child? I gave birth, didn’t I?”
