Chapter 1462: Chapter 1462

Hadley offered her a small smile and looped her arm through hers. “Come on. Let’s go get some breakfast.”

“Alright.”

As they stepped into the hallway together, Hadley slowed, glancing at Elissa with quiet hesitation. “Elissa… about Locke. Do you remember anything at all?”

Elissa stopped, her brows drawing together as she searched her mind.

Finally, she shook her head. “No.”

Hearing Locke’s name filled her with unease, confusion, and sorrow.

“I don’t remember ever being pregnant,” she admitted. “Or giving birth. There’s nothing.”

Hadley’s expression darkened slightly. “What about Robin? Did he ever mention anything? You two were still married then. Even if things between you weren’t great, wouldn’t he have noticed if you were expecting a child? If you gave birth?”

The south gate of the Scott estate swung open as the car carrying Hadley and Elissa slowly pulled out.

It paused briefly at the exit. Follow current nov?ls on find·novel·net

Through the window, Hadley spotted Ernest’s Cayenne parked nearby.

“Elissa,” she said, glancing over.

She figured Elissa still hadn’t made up her mind—and wasn’t ready to face him. “I’ll go speak with Ernest. Wait here for a minute.”

“Alright,” Elissa said with a small nod.

Hadley stepped out. “Hi, Ernest.”

“Hadley.” Ernest leaned against his car, his eyes fixed on theirs. “Elissa… How’s she?”

“I told her everything you said last night,” Hadley said gently. “Just like you asked.”

She paused, then added with more weight, “Give her time. And whatever happens, don’t push her.”

Her tone turned firm. “She’s been through more than you know.”

“I understand,” Ernest said with a slow nod, his brow furrowed.

Hadley glanced back at the car. “I should go. Don’t worry—she’s a bit weak, but her spirit’s still strong. Stronger than you’d think.”

“That’s good,” Ernest murmured.

He already knew.

If she hadn’t been strong, she wouldn’t have made it this far.

“I’m heading out,” Hadley said, turning back toward the car.

She asked the driver to drop Elissa off at her office before heading to the set. Behind them, Ernest’s Cayenne followed at a respectful distance all the way to Elissa’s building.

He stayed in the car, watching as she got out and walked inside. She never looked back.

“Mr. Flynn,” Quentin said cautiously, “the morning meeting’s about to start.”

“Right.”
