Chapter 1741: Chapter 1741

chapter1741

Luckily, Quentin was strong as an ox. With his help, Craig got medical attention in no time. After a shot to bring down his fever, the doctors said he could be moved to a regular room for observation.

Aurora couldn't relax, knowing Craig was alone in the hospital. She slipped out to call her mom, asking her to look after her son a little longer.

Back in the hospital room, just then-Craig woke up!

Quentin glanced over at him, his tone more businesslike than caring. "Want me to call the doctor for you?"

Craig slowly turned his head, his lips cracked from the fever.

"Where's Aurora..."

"She stepped out to make a call," Quentin replied, handing him a cup of water from the bedside table. "Want some water?"

"I'm fine," Craig muttered, stubborn as always. Even though he'd just woken up, he insisted on sitting up by himself.

Quentin didn't bother helping. He stood silently for a few seconds, then suddenly asked, "You're Aurora's ex-husband, aren't you?"

"I am," Craig answered, already guessing who this guy was.

"She didn't come to the studio today because you got sick, right?"

"And who are you to ask?"

Craig couldn't be civil-not to a man who clearly had eyes for Aurora. She was the only thing he had left. How could he be calm with Quentin sniffing around?

Quentin considered him for a second. "Well... right now, we're just colleagues."

"And after that?" Craig pressed.

Quentin grinned. "Who knows what'll happen down the line? Aurora's smart, talented, and gorgeous-of course she attracts attention. I'm just one of many, and honestly, it's up to her whether I ever get a chance."

He wasn't exaggerating. Since the divorce, Aurora had been

given up on romance.

"You want to date my wife," Craig said flatly.

"Ex-wife," Quentin corrected, smiling.

"Wife," Craig shot back, not backing down.

Quentin shrugged. "Sure, whatever you say."

Just then, Aurora came back in, surprised to see the two men actually talking—if you could call it that.

"Craig, how are you feeling?" she asked.

"Terrible," he grumbled.

Aurora sighed, recognizing that familiar stubborn streak. She turned to Quentin. "Thanks for your help, but you can go now. I'll take care of things here. Seriously, I owe ou dinner once all this is sorted out."

Quentin glanced at Craig, then nodded. "No problem. Just give me a ring if you need anything."

"I'll walk you out," Aurora offered.

But before she could, Craig started coughing so hard it sounded like he was about to hack up a lung. He clutched his chest, his hand brushing against the IV line, and suddenly a spot of blood appeared under the skin.

"Craig! Don't move!" Aurora rushed over, grabbing his hand.

"I'm fine," he insisted.

"Fine? You never take care of yourself!" Aurora snapped. “You're still on an IV. Can't you see that?"

She knew exactly what this was about-Craig just didn't want her leaving to walk Quentin out.
