Chapter 506: Chapter 506

Chapter 506

Janet was lost in her own thoughts when Mason suddenly spoke, his voice dropping to a low murmur. “But… I want to be with you every second of the day.”

Janet’s mouth twitched. I was just thinking that, and he says it out loud. Is this some kind of telepathic connection?

“But…” she paused, deciding to test him. “I don’t really like clingy men, you know.”

Mason didn't buy it for a second. He leaned in, rubbing his face against the crook of her neck. The scent of his shower gel mingled with her own unique fragrance, creating a soothing, intoxicating aroma.

“I know you’re just saying that to provoke me,” he whispered. He gave the tender skin of her neck a light, playful bite—a tiny punishment for her words.

Janet remained silent. I really can’t hide anything from him anymore. “That’s enough!” she said, feeling a wave of helplessness. “Can you let go? I have to leave soon. My friends are already waiting for me.”

Instead of releasing her, Mason tightened his grip. “I need to leave my mark on you first. That way, everyone will know you’re taken and stop looking at you with wandering eyes.”

Janet was exasperated. Leave a mark? If he does that, I’ll be forced to wear a turtleneck in this sweltering heat!

Just as she was reaching her breaking point, Sean’s voice echoed from the living room doorway. “Young Master Mason, the car is ready! We need to head to the office now!”

Hearing Sean was like finding a lifeline. Janet pushed against Mason’s shoulders with all her strength. “Let go! Let go! Sean’s going to walk in any second!”

After Sean called out several more times, Mason realized he couldn't stall any longer. With a heavy, reluctant sigh, he finally released her.

The moment she was free, Janet bolted upstairs. This man is entirely too indecent this early in the morning, she thought, her heart racing. He almost led me astray.

Meanwhile, Black Python, White Python, and Red Python were feeling a deep sense of gloom. Word had reached them that Janet was headed back to school.

“Sigh. Once Miss Jackson goes back to school, it’s back to Markovia for us,” White Python lamented.

“Exactly,” Red Python chimed in. “The only reason we got to leave Markovia was to protect her during summer break. Now that the semester is starting, our vacation is over.”

Black Python let out a long breath. “Let’s just be grateful for the time we had. Young Master Mason has only been in a good mood because Miss Jackson was around. Once she’s gone, his true colors will come back.”

“You’ve got a point there, Black Python!”

“Hahaha! Actually, going back to Markovia might not be so bad,” Black Python joked. “At least we won’t have to deal with the ‘King of Hell’ every day.”

Suddenly, a cold, low voice drifted from behind the three of them. “And who, exactly, is the King of Hell?”

Black Python grinned, answering reflexively, “It’s Young—”

He froze. Wait. Why does that voice sound so familiar? He slowly turned his head and felt his heart skip a beat. Mason was standing there, arms crossed, his expression dark and his aura terrifyingly cold.

“You won’t be going back to Markovia,” Mason said icily. “I think Africa will suit you better.”

Without another word, he turned on his heel and walked toward the waiting car.

The three Pythons stood there, speechless. Did we really say anything that wrong? they wondered. Once Miss Jackson is gone, he really does turn back into the devil. We’ve been guarding her for two months! Sure, nothing happened, but it was still hard work! Does he really have to ship us off to the mines without a single warning?!

Meanwhile, Janet finished changing and immediately headed downstairs, asking the butler to drive her straight to the airport.
