Chapter 725: Chapter 725

chapter725

Madge: "Sweetheart, happy birthday! Your dad and I were planning to visit you in New York City a couple of days early to celebrate, but the publisher just notified us of a reprint for 'Seven Days' and sent over three huge boxes of title pages for me to sign. We're really tied up here, so we talked it over and decided we'll have to visit you in the city another time."

Madge sighed, a bit helpless.

The new book was a smash hit, already on its third reprint. There were still thousands of title pages waiting for her autograph in the study. Sometimes, having a bestseller was more of a hassle than you'd think.

Roseanne blinked, ever so understanding: "Well, with my mom being so popular, it's only natural you'd be busy!"

Her proud tone and little expression made Madge burst into laughter.

"Oh, you have no idea! Your mom's quite the celebrity now! Just the other day, a super fan somehow got ahold of your mom's phone number and called, offering ten grand for a signed book."

When Madge picked up the call, Norris was right there and nearly jumped out of his skin.

To write "Best wishes and good health" for ten grand? Seriously?

"Wow," Roseanne was astonished, "did that really happen?"

"Your mom was so stunned she couldn't respond, and the caller thought she wasn't happy with the offer, so he upped it to twenty grand. Can you believe that?" Norris still shook his head in disbelief.

"Did mom agree?"

"She agreed to sign it but refused the money. Turns out, the fan was from New York City too!"

After hanging up, Roseanne noticed a text notification for a package pick-up code. She reluctantly crawled out of bed, slipped on her shoes, and drew back the curtains.

It had snowed again last night, blanketing the world outside in white.

Suddenly, the doorbell rang.

Roseanne rushed to open the door-Bang!

Confetti burst into the air, ribbons cascading onto her head and shoulders.

She was stunned.

Leda stood there in a sleek black suit, a red bow tie at her neck, her hair elegantly styled, makeup immaculate: "Are you ready, my princess? Your knight has arrived."

Roseanne was taken aback, instinctively covering her mouth.

She knew Leda was coming, but she hadn't expected such a grand entrance.

"Well? Surprised? Is it what you expected? Are you touched?"

"Thank you!" Roseanne exclaimed, pulling Leda into a big hug, "My most dashing, handsome knight Leda!"

Leda smiled, patting her back gently,

"Alright, alright, don't get too

emotional now, this is just the appetizer. There's a bigger surprise waiting!"

She pointed at her watch, "Twenty minutes, will that do?"

"Yes!" Roseanne dashed back to her room to freshen up, get ready, and change.

Twenty minutes later, she was in Leda's car.

They arrived at a highly acclaimed French restaurant downtown-

As they opened the door, a spotlight from

up one by one.

A silent ceremony, celebrating the arrival of today's star.

Leda bowed in a perfect knightly manner: "Please, enter, my princess."

As soon as she finished speaking, the spotlight moved to focus on Roseanne.

Following the markings on the floor, she was guided to a table by the window.

Leda pulled out the chair for her, embodying the charm of an English gentleman in every way but gender.

Then, she handed over her gift: "Happy Birthday, want to see what's inside?"

Roseanne took the gift and opened it to find a classic Cartier bracelet, set with four pink diamonds. Inside, the initials of Roseanne and Leda-SS-were engraved.

A symbol of everlasting friendship.

"It's beautiful! I love it."
