Once Jeff and Sunny were out of sight, the living room turned silent, but the heaviness in the air lingered. The cheerful mood was gone.
Elliana quietly gathered her twins and headed upstairs.
Cole tugged at his shirt in irritation before following her.
The rest of the afternoon passed with Cole and Elliana staying in their room with the twins, creating their own peaceful escape from the earlier chaos.
As Cole had ordered, Jeff and Sunny remained outside the house for the entire day, and their meals were brought to the garden.
Sunny, however, looked like he was enjoying himself. Whenever boredom struck, he picked a fight with Jeff and even made him cry several more times before evening came. They truly were the perfect pair of rivals.
When night settled in, Jeff was finally permitted to return to his room.
Sunny should have been sent home, but he stubbornly refused and insisted on staying.
Ruben conceded, arranging the guest room right next to Jeff’s for Sunny.
Cole got the full story from Paulina, and hearing that Sunny had stayed overnight left him visibly irritated. He scowled.
“Call Donovan and Seth and tell them to take their son home!”
With a hint of amusement, Elliana glanced at him.
“Are you honestly going to pick a fight with a four-year-old? Donovan raised me and taught me so much—how could I send his son away?”
Cole realized how ridiculous he sounded and chuckled.
“I know I’m being ridiculous. But with that little troublemaker lurking around, I can’t even step outside comfortably. He’s after either my wife or my daughter. With that kind of ambition, how am I supposed to relax?”
“Ha-ha!” Elliana burst into laughter.
“Tomorrow, we’re heading to Harmony Estate to visit my dad and brother. You won’t have to face Sunny for an entire day.”
True to her word, Elliana and Cole left for Harmony Estate with the twins early the next morning. When they departed, Jeff and Sunny were still sound asleep.

The moment Jeff and Sunny woke up, they raced down the stairs together, eager for a glimpse of Beatrice. But by then, Elliana and Cole had already been gone for nearly an hour. Realizing Beatrice and Elliana wouldn’t be around that entire day crushed their spirits, and breakfast lost all appeal. Barely touching their toast, the two boys soon slid right back into their usual bickering.
Elliana and Cole had never mentioned their trip to Delta to Arthur and Milton, only calling to report their safety after everything was resolved.
Overjoyed to hear that Elliana’s daughter had been brought back safely, Arthur and Milton were up early, waiting in the living room for their arrival.
